Childhood Sweethearts

Just the other day, I was surprised that Jimmy, who was my childhood sweetheart, came to visit me at home. Some of the memories that we shared are still fresh in my head and still gives me a smile every now and then. I can still remember when he bought gold chains as a sign of our friendship. We were together almost everyday and I did not have any friend other than Jimmy. However, those good times came to an end when Jimmy and his family had to relocate to another state.

What happened to us was much like the ones that you can watch in movies where childhood sweethearts somehow meet again after several years. Our parents used to think that we will make a lovely couple when we grow up. It’s sad that we didn’t have enough time to get to know more about each other and share more things. Jimmy is now engaged to be married and he just dropped by to invite me to come to his wedding. He has been a part of my life so I’d love to go to his wedding.

It’s great to see Jimmy again and I’m happy that he still remembers me and considers me as a part of his life. How I wish all my friends are like him.
